In times of change, as the current time, there is a strong need for leaders. Not because the consultation model is not good anymore, but it is true that the interlocutors do not always know. That requires someone who leads the walk: a leader. Others have failed to accept, is a leader requires other people to follow voluntarily. So what is the reason that someone from his environment is classified as a 'leader'? Or if people are willing to walk behind someone? The British considered that Paul Bridle, and people discovered that someone found a leader when he five criteria:
- Vision with passion. A leader knows what purpose he wants to achieve. The road along which he goal makes him that much. This means that dead ends or creative methods are not an obstacle. Important is the passion that enables him to inspire others and motivate. Both to share his vision as to help achieve that vision.
- Consistent values and norms. A leader lives what he believes, and has remained consistently. Thus he is seen as an honest and reliable person. It also does not mean that everyone likes, whether it is always with him! However, a leader must earn the aura of integrity, he will first have to behave as such a time.
- Love people. It is thought that a leader is convinced that people matter, and that belief acts. Leaders are also good communicators. That's because they are good listeners. But they succeed in the natural tendency of people to stop criticizing overcome. Very important is that if they consistently separate persons and subjects: the views of someone can be wrong, the person in principle.
- Champions grow. Leaders love to learn and they also like to encourage others to learn. This also leads to a leader to someone looking for strengths, and much less focused on reducing weaknesses of man. The leader suggests "good questions" about the people around him to reflect upon. This behavior is a leading catalyst of learning from the people around him.
- Overview in overalls. A good leader keeps the overview, while he is' on the ground "to help, coaching, encouraging. He succeeds in doing so, the details not to linger but go again once he has the idea that people could back themselves. Leaders are also really good at delegating: always a step back so others increasing responsibilities, without that they can drown. This delegation also requires time (time each person is different), and is quite different from the shearing often delegate is called.
